New Engaging Login

We recently released a new way to log into Engaging using a single hostname. You can now run:

ssh USERNAME@orcd-login.mit.edu

and you will be brought to one of our many available login nodes. This helps keep our login nodes balanced so any one of them doesn't get more load than the others. The set of login nodes behind this hostname are also a newer setup.

Please give this hostname a try in place of going directly to orcd-login001, orcd-login002, orcd-login003, and orcd-login004. If you run into any trouble let us know at orcd-help@mit.edu.

Note that this new hostname does require your Kerberos password as part of the latest version of Duo Two-Factor login. Once the new ORCD OnDemand Web Portal is released you will be able to log into orcd-login.mit.edu with an SSH key as long as you have recently logged into OnDemand. Two-Factor will only be required if you have not recently logged into the new ORCD OnDemand.
